Psalms 119:25-32

Text:

"25 My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word! 26 When I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes! 27 Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works. 28 My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word! 29 Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law! 30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me. 31 I cling to your testimonies, O Lord; let me not be put to shame! 32 I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!"

What does this reveal about God's character?

God hears us and answers us when we turn to Him.  He will strengthen us and to give us the eyes and ears to discern the truth when we trust Him to do so.  God is faithful to give us a heart for Him, when we cling to Him and His word.

Prayer:

Father God, forgive me for clinging to the world and what it offers.  Give me a heart that longs to seek you and know you intimately.  Enlarge my heart to make room for you and your precepts.  Give me the strength and perseverance I need to run the race of life well.  I ask you for the eyes to see, the ears to hear, a mind to understand and a heart to receive all that you have for me in your Word.  Give me discernment to distinguish what is truth and what is a lie from Satan.  Incline my heart to the things of you.  Lord, I pray that I would cling to you in the good and the bad; in the happy and in the sorrowful; in the peace and in the turmoil.  I choose to praise your great name because you are worthy.  I trust in your faithfulness that encourages and impassions me.  I trust in your word that disciplines and guides me.  I trust in you who will never leave or forsake me.  In Jesus' name, Amen!
