Day 1: Strengthened to Boldness in Christ

“Father God, I am come before you today humbled by your great strength that never fails. You are Supreme. Lord, I ask for a fresh dose of your strength. I ask you to specifically strengthen me in boldness to proclaim your name to those you have placed in my path. I pray I would not shrink back from being a light in the darkness. I admit it can be scary at times and that fears of failure, embarrassment, rejection, bodily harm and even death float through my mind and paralyze my heart and actions. I bring those fears to you, knowing that your Word says perfect love casts out all fears (1 John 4:18). It’s not easy to share about you in a society that is so bent on eradicating you from its culture, but yet that is the very reason you have called me to it. Give me a fresh perspective to see the great need the lost have for you. Give me the desire to share the Gospel with those who don’t know you and who desperately need saving. Help me not to write people off because I don’t count them worthy of heaven. Remind me, Lord, that before I was redeemed by your grace I, too, desperately needed saving. Help me to extend the same grace to others that you have extended to me. I love you, Lord, and thank you for your faithfulness to answer my prayers according to your good and perfect will (1 John 5:14-15). In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”
